Klara Rusan, also known as Klarxy, was born in Zagreb in late 1993. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, Department of Animated Film and New Media. Although she initially planned to continue exploring animated film, she shifted her focus toward illustration, which eventually took her to England. In 2017, she graduated from Falmouth University of Art with an MA in Authorial Illustration. For her graduation project, she received the MA Illustration: Authorial Practice – Award for Outstanding Creative Writing.
Alongside several group exhibitions, she has held a number of solo shows. For example, at the Oris House of Architecture in Zagreb, she presented her first graphic novel, ‘Where Do People Go After They Die?. In early 2024, she prepared and shortly thereafter presented her second solo exhibition, ‘ADHD – Pool of Thoughts’, in Brussels. Her most recent exhibition of oil paintings on canvas, ‘Dear Babies…’, held at Urania in Zagreb, will be followed by a continuation in May 2026 at the Gallery Kranjčar in Zagreb.
